The story of Microphone Mike and Beatriz La Beatz is one of two kids who met in Miami in the early '90s and documented the trials of their relationship in a body of work called Make-Ups &Break-Ups, a ten-track album. The songs outline their relationship from adolescence to young adulthood - through infatuation, heartache, jealousy and distance.

 The project was tracked over several years, and the duo never lived closer than a thousand miles apart for the duration of the writing, recording and mixing. They have never performed live, and their story exists solely within the framework of the music.

 They released two additional singles, "Microphone Love" and "Weakness," an original piece of music and a cover song, respectively.
