33 Slade was a melodic post-hardcore trio from Boston, MA. The band was formed by siblings Buick Audra (guitar, vocals) and Boey Russell (drums) along with their longtime friend and collaborator, Levi Fuller (bass). The band was named after their place of residence when they formed.
33 Slade made two albums. The first, The Way to Win: A True Story, was recorded, produced, and mixed by J. Robbins at Inner Ear Studio in Arlington, VA. The second, Harmonies for One, was recorded at Camp Street and Q Division Studios, both in Cambridge, MA. HFO marked a shift in the band as Buick Audra became the primary songwriter as well as producer alongside engineer Matt Squire. The album was later mixed by Paul Kolderie and released after the band members had moved on to solo endeavors.
All three members have musical projects today. Buick Audra makes work under her own name in addition to being the guitarist and primary vocalist in the Nashville heavy duo, Friendship Commanders. Boey Russell has a solo project and collaborates with all kinds of folks in the Boston area. Levi Fuller makes work under the name Levi Fuller & the Library and is also involved in several other creative projects.
33 Slade never broke up, and so there is always hope for one more record. Stay tuned.
